First of three milestones reached!
We have sensational news for you.
Cannerald has received the Exemption permit for cannabis with a THC content of more than 1% by the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) - exceptional approval (AB)-8/5-BetmG - 2022 / 017119.
From now on we are allowed to cultivate cannabis with more than 1% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) for research purposes under consideration of the Narcotics Act (BetmG). We have thus reached the first important milestone in our joint history. This step has kept us busy every day for the last 18 months and we are delighted with this success!
The approval allows us to import & cultivate the first genetics with more than 1% Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). By doing so, we are well prepared for the upcoming market opening for the medical cannabis market in 2022. We will thus conduct the first research projects together with the FOPH and our internal biochemistry laboratory! Our research lab under construction will be the most modern cannabis research lab in Switzerland! Cannerald is currently investing a lot of time and money in the expansion of the research arm.

Can Cannerald now grow THC plants?
No, the approval is the first of three steps on the way into the medical cannabis field. The permit allows us to prepare for the upcoming medical cannabis market with genetics that contains more than 1% THC active ingredient and to cultivate and research these genetics for research purposes.
What is the advantage of the exemption?
We are currently expanding our research area tremendously to be at the forefront of research! The biggest advantage is that we will save 6-9 months of the time when we receive the final GMP approval and switch production from CBD to THC.
When can we expect the final GMP approval?
